Larry Eugene Keller, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed peacefully at his home on December 12, 2020.

Born September 13, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD, to the late Earl Saum and Mildred Lulu Keller, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Keller, son Douglas Keller, grandson Brian Taylor, and sister Marsha Massey.

He graduated from Hagerstown High School as a part of the class of 1957 and went on to serve as a communications technician in the United States Navy.

Larry married his high school sweetheart, Donna Keller, on November 22, 1958. Their marriage was a beautiful example of unconditional love and devotion between two people.

Larry retired from Potomac Edison in 1997 after 36 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Potomac Edison Forerunners Club.

Larry was a loyal volunteer for the Arc of Washington County for over 30 years where he served as the chief corn-cooker at their annual Ox Roast. He was a member of the American Legion Funkstown Post 211 and the Williamsport Redmen Tribe #84.

Larry was also a longtime member and one-time president of Civitan International in Hagerstown, MD. Larry enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and (as a true Marylander) he was a loyal Orioles, Terps, and Baltimore Colts/Ravens fan, who loved picking crabs while enjoying a cold beer.

He treasured his family and was known for giving out the best hugs. He truly cherished the time he spent with his many close friends.

Left to keep his memory alive are his daughter, Susan Taylor and husband, Jeff Taylor; granddaughter, Gabby Leach and husband, Cameron Leach; granddaughter, Madison Taylor; sister Carolyn McSherry (Vernon); brother Curtis Keller (Peggy); brother Alan Keller; brother Stephen Keller (Vicki); and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Graveside services officiated by Pastor Tim Fisher will be held privately at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, a celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s honor to Halfway Volunteer Fire Company, 11114 Lincoln Ave Hagerstown, MD 21740 or Special Olympics Maryland, 3701 Commerce Drive #103 Baltimore, Maryland 21227.
